KANNUR: Coming to the rescue of Kerala finance minister, Dr T M Thomas Isaac, who was in the eye of a storm on the lottery issue, CPI(M) Kerala General Secretary, Pinarayi vijayan, Sunday said no one need to think to isolate Isaac.
Speaking at a function here, Vijayan said that there was no difference of opinion on lottery issue in the party or in the government.
Vijayan alleged that some people are propagating that CPI (M) had isolated Isaac and he (Isaac) is waging a lonely fight as the prominent leaders of the CPI (M) had 'turned their face'.
Opposition UDF had alleged that CPI (M) had a role in rampant corruption in distribution and conduct of other state lotteries, specially Sikkim and Bhutan.
Vijayan said that both the Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and Isaac had same stand on the lottery issue.
The war of words between the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) and the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) over the illegal functioning of other state lotteries had been going on in the state. |
